Alexander Konstantinowitsch Glasunow (Glazounov) (Glazunov) geb. in St. Petersburg, 29. Juli (10. August) 1865, gest. Paris, 21. März 1936. Bedeutender russischer Komponist, Schüler Rimsky-Korsakows, der 1905 bis 1928 das Konservatorium in St. Petersburg leitete. Er komponierte u. a. neun Symphonien, ein berühmt gewordenes Violinkonzert, Bühnenwerke, Kammermusik, Vokalwerke, trat schriftstellerisch hervor und wurde aufgrund seiner vornehmen Schreibweise und der Verarbeitung seiner musikalischen Gedanken der russische Brahms genannt.
