Andrew is well respected throughout the industry for his work as a saxophonist, woodwind player, arranger, composer, clinician and recording artist. Whether hes in concert as a solo artist or a sideman, Neus musicianship and powerful stage presence continue to get the attention of audiences and critics alike.
Regularly touring the world with Bobby Caldwell, Diane Schuur and Smokey Robinson, Neu has shared the stage with Elton John, Patti Labelle, Mellissa Manchester, Mel Torme, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Four Tops, and The Temptations among others. He has also recorded as a soloist with Bobby Caldwell, Sister Sledge, Manhattan Transfer, Peter White, David Sanborn, Steve Oliver, Jeff Lorber, Brian Culbertson and Buddy DeFranco. Neu has appeared at major festivals and concert halls throughout the world and performed with jazz artists Pat Martino, Randy Brecker, Joey DeFrancesco, Lew Soloff, Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, Mindi Abair, Gerald Albright, Euge Groove, Kim Waters, Nick Colionne, David Benoit, Eric Darius, Chieli Minucci, Jeff Golub and Brian Simpson. He was a featured soloist on Peter Whites number 1 song and record, "Here We Go" on Billboard in 2012.
Fueled by the international success of "Inspire" (2000) and "In Clear View" (2007), Andrew made his debut on NuGroove Records with "Try Something Neu" (2009). Debuting in the top 20 on the Jazz charts it was produced by Brian Bromberg, Chuck Loeb and Gerald Veasley. "Everything Happens for a Reason" (2013, CGN Records) is Andrews best album yet featuring Bromberg, Jeff Lorber, Rick Braun, Bobby Caldwell, Tom Schuman, live horns and a full orchestra. It hit #3 on the Groove Jazz Chart. Andrew was a member of Peter Nero and the Philly Pops and has been the featured as a soloist and an arranger with the Brian Pastor Big Band and the Dave Stahl Big Band. He has recorded CDs with both bands. Andrew leads an all-star big band in Los Angeles along with trumpeter, Anthony Bonsera. He has also played with Tonight Show arranger, Mike Barone, in his LA big band. He was the conductor and arranger for Bobby Caldwells CD, After Dark, conducting members of the Airmen of Note. Bernie Dresel recently recorded 3 tunes on his big band recording.
Andrew began conducting the jazz ensemble at Swarthmore College in 2014. In high demand as a clinician, he has led rehearsals and classes in high schools, colleges and jazz camps throughout California, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Japan. Hes conducted the award winning jazz program at Lower Merion High School since 1999 leading the band on three tours of Italy in 2008, 2011 and 2014. In 2012 Andrew conducted the Berks High School All Star Jazz Band at the Berks Jazz Fest.
