Arletta O'Hearn
composer
Arletta O'Hearn teaches in her independent studio in Portland, Oregon, as well as a summer Basic Jazz Piano course at Portland State University. Last winter she spent several weekends adjudicating the Oregon MTA Syllabus Program in Salem. At least two of her sons are benefiting from their musical heritage: Patrick, who was nominated for a Grammy three years ago (New Age Composer) and who wrote the music for Falcon Crest last year, has just completed the music for his second film. His most recent album is Eldorado. Robert, as keyboardist for the pop band, Alias, appeared on the Johnny Carson show in January and March. Their song, More Than Words Can Say, was #2 on the pop chart in early March, and Waiting for Love was #6.
Arletta's solo collections include Blues & Other Colors, In a Jazz Groove, Love Jazz, Sunshine & Blues, Swing Street, Three Piano Preludes in Jazz Stylings. Duet collections include Jazz Theme & Variations and Jazz Together. Suite Talk, her newest collection for two pianos, will be available in February 1992 when one of the pieces will appear in the Commissioned by Clavier series. All are published by the Neil A. Kjos Music Company.
