Daniel Fabricius composer / arranger

Daniel Fabricius is highly regarded in the region as a conductor, as a percussionist, and as a music educator. Although he has been an active member of the Binghamton Philharmonic since 1982 his main focus is serving as Director of Bands at Owego Free Academy where he has developed one of the finest instrumental music programs in the state. He also began teaching at Binghamton University in 1992, where after twenty years in the percussion studio he was asked to accept the appointment of conductor of the University Wind Symphony in 2012.

Mr. Fabricius has served the New York State School Music Association as a Percussion and Jazz adjudicator for many years. He also serves as the Instrumental Jazz Reviews editor of The School Music News and is the Jazz editor for the NYSSMA Manual. He was recently asked to serve as Chair of the All-State Jazz Ensemble. In addition to his collegiate work at BU, he has served on the Summer Session faculty at Ithaca College and has also trained many student teachers for the IC School of Music. During the summer he also teaches percussion and conducts the Intermediate Jazz Ensemble at the Ithaca College Summer Music Academy. He is a published composer, with several percussion ensemble works currently in print. Mr. Fabricius has presented many clinics at music conventions and conferences and often serves as a guest conductor for honor band festivals.
