Dario Tosolini was born in Latisana (Udine) in 1977. In 1996, he completed a bachelor degree in sciences and the following year he graduated with a degree in oboe performance from the Conservatory E. F. DallAbaco in Verona, under the guidance of Diego Dini Ciacci. In 2002, he completed his degree with honors in band instrumentation with Roberto Di Marino and, in 2004, in composition with experimental computer science (honors and Praise) in the class of Andrea Mannucci. He participated in the Erasmus project and continued his studies in composition in Tampere (Finland). He won awards and accolades in several competitions, including 1st jury prize and audience award at the 2nd Competition Evangelical Lutheran Community of Naples, the 2nd prize at the 2nd Competition A. Paccagnini, the 1st prize (ex-aequo with Ferrer Ferran) at the 5th International Competition for Wind Band Music R. Marenco, a notable mention in the first category at the International Composition Contest for Wind Band Music La Prime Lus of Bertiolo , and the 2nd prize at the 4th International Competition of Original Compositions for Youth Band Città di Sinnai. He is an author of music for orchestra and wind band, as well as choral and chamber music; some of his works are published by Pizzicato Verlag Helvetia, Wicky Music Publishing, and Scomegna. He received the first prize at the First Provincial Contest for Wind Band Conductors held in Dossobuono (Verona) in 2013. He participated in masterclasses held by Lorenzo Pusceddu and Jan van der Roost. He taught harmony and counterpoint at the Conservatory of Music E. F. DallAbaco in Verona and currently teaches oboe and music theory in several music academies in the province of Verona. He is the director of the Polyphonic Choir San Lorenzo of Pescantina (Verona), the Choir of the Philharmonic of Bardolino (Verona), and the civic wind band of Grezzana (Verona).
