Ivan Romero Fuentes composer
He began his musical studies with the saxophone at the age of 8 at the "Centro Instructivo de Arte y Cultura" in Vall d'Uixó (Castellón) with the teacher Marcos Cano Algaba. Later, he continued his studies at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música "Mossen Francesc Peñarroja" in La Vall d'Uixó and in 2006 at the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Joaquín Rodrigo" in Valencia, specialising in saxophone.
He has taken numerous advanced courses with Sixto M. Herrero Rodes and has participated in various competitions, obtaining in 2002 the first prize in interpretation in the "II Allegro Competition" and in 2003 the first prize in the saxophone quartet category in the "III Allegro Competition".
In 2010 he began his composition studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música "Salvador Seguí" in Castellón with professors Ramón Pastor, Claudia Montero and Ferrer Ferran.
In 2013, he received a scholarship from the Generalitat Valenciana to participate in courses at the Berklee College of Music Valencia, where he took the course of arrangements and composition for band with Gregory Fritze and the course of band conducting with Rafael Sanz Espert.
Among other works, in 2014 he composed "Gegant de Pedra", a compulsory fourth section piece for the XXXVIII Certamen Provincial de Bandas de Música de Castellón.
