Born in 1977 in Styria / Austria, he started his musical education with percussion at the age of eight and received his first trumpet lessons at the age of twelve. He studied at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory in Eisenstadt, afterwards at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Vienna, where he did his concert diploma (final examination). Supplementary Studies at the University of Music in Graz. During his studies he did masterclasses with Hans Gansch, Fred Mills, Bo Nillson, Otto Sauter and Michael Sachs. Studies on barock trumpet, master classes with Heinrich Bruckner and Andreas Lackner (concentus musicus).

He was a member of the Wiener Jeunesse Orchestra and the International Orchester Institute Attergau, where he made his first orchestral experience and since 2000 he played in varios orchestras in vienna, including Wiener Volksoper, Tonkünstler Orchester, Wiener Kammeroper and Ensemble 20th century (modern music), chamber music in different brass ensembles.

In 2002 he got his first engagement as principal trumpet in the theatre of St. Pölten. Later he received time contracts in the stage orchestra of Vienna State Opera and is from 2004 to date steady substitute in the orchestra of Vienna State Opera and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2005 he has an engagement as trumpeter in the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and from 2006 - 2013 he was trumpeter in the Orchestra Mozart (Claudio Abbado).

Since 2012 he is part time lecturer for Trumpet at the University of Music and dramatic Arts in Vienna.
