Jan Nellestijn arranger
Conductor and arranger Jan Nellestijn started his musical career as a drummer and trumpet player in the military service. In the meantime, he obtained his diplomas as a teaching musician (Arnhem, 1993) and wind- and brass music conducting at the conservatory. He obtained his Masters in 1999 with Jan Cober. In 2006 Jan Nellestijn left the Army as Major Chief Conductor of the Royal Army Brass Band.
Jan then trained himself in composition and made many arrangements on commission. From 2010 to 2016 he was regularly deputy principal teacher conducting wind- and brass music at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen.
