Jean-Luc Lepage was born on November 19,1959 in Virton Saint-Mard. He was awarded, successively, a 1st Prize for the Organ, for written and practical Harmony, for Methodology of the Solfeggio, a Certificate for Musical Analysis, then a Grand Prize for Solfeggio, Specialization, at the Royal Conservatoire for Music in Mons. As a concert performer, he performed numerous organ concerts. He is currently Deputy Director at the Conservatoire for Music in Dinant. In the framework of his duties, he composed numerous pieces for wind instruments, with or without piano accompaniment, also works for the piano for two or four hands. His musical language is generally tonal but in some pieces destined for the Royal Conservatoires, we find the symbolics of the figures to be omnipresent. We also encounter quite frequently the scale by tones which can be transposed once only and that has been made good use of by Debussy already.
