Kandis Taylor composer

Kandis Taylor began her career by earning her Bachelors Degree in Music Education and Masters Degree in Percussion Performance from Brigham Young University. During her time there she was a winner of the BYU Concerto Competition and performed in the school’s most prestigious ensembles including the Philharmonic Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Percussion Ensemble, Panoramic Steel Drum Band, and various Jazz ensembles. Professionally she served as Director of Education and Percussion Department Coordinator at The Music School in American Fork, Utah, where she also created, directed, and toured with awarding winning steel drum bands. In addition, she has several years experience teaching in public schools, directing and adjudicating bands and percussion groups at the junior high and high school levels. She is actively involved in industry organizations including the Percussive Arts Society where she served as Vice President of the Utah chapter. She currently resides in Northern California with her husband where she is overseeing the creation of a percussion program at the local high school, teaching private lessons, and playing professionally around the Bay Area.
