Karel Belohoubek studied bassoon and clarinet at the Military College of Music in Roudnice and conducting at the Prague Conservatory. In 1978 he became conductor of the "Central Band of the Czech Army" and in 1987 its chief conductor. From his student years, he has devoted himself to arranging and composing, and as conductor he has made many recordings for the radio and record companies.
