Kathrin Gass ist geboren am 31.7.1974 und aufgewachsen in Trossingen. Ihren ersten Mundharmonikaunterricht erhielt sie bei Marie-Louise Eppler, später dann bei Helmuth Herold und Yasuo Watani am Hohner-Konservatorium in Trossingen.
Bei internationalen Wettbewerben erspielte sie sich erste Platzierungen (u.a. World Harmonica Festival 1993 1. Platz bei Solo Jugend und Spielgruppe, 1997 1. Platz? Spielgruppe, 2001? 1. Platz Trio). 2001 gewann sie beim World-Harmonica-Festival den ersten Preis in der Kategorie "Solo chromatisch mit Pflichtstück".
Heute spielt Kathrin Gass als Solistin, im Duo mit Hans-Günther Kölz (Klavier), im Mundharmonikaquartett "Harmonicamento", im Orchester Hohnerklang und in der Formation "Triologische Momente" mit Hans-Günther Kölz (Klavier/ Akkordeon) und Anika Neipp (Gesang).
Kathrin Gass ist Dozentin verschiedener Workshops, u.a. für den Deutschen Harmonika Verband und Autorin verschiedener Lehrwerke. Von 2002 bis 2020 war Kathrin Gass Dozentin am Hohner-Konservatorium.
