Leander Kaiser composer / arranger

Geboren 1961 in Stuttgart. Schlagzeugstudium bei verschiedenen namhaften Professoren. 1986-88 Lehrtätigkeit an der Universität Köln, seit 1988 an der Musikschule Starnberg. Als Komponist mehr als 40 Notenpublikationen bei verschiedenen Musikverlagen. Rege Konzerttätigkeit mit dem "INDEX 4 Percussion Quartett", in der Besetzung "Orgel & Percussion", sowie mit anderen Besetzungen.
1997 gewinnt er den ersten Preis des "Percussive Arts Society International Composition Contest" mit der Komposition Black Sphinx for Marimba Solo. Im Juli 1999 gewinnt er den ersten Preis der "International Challenge for creative Percussionist" beim PercFest in Laigueglia-Italien.Bei diesem Wettbewerb spielt er eigene Werke. Weitere Auszeichnungen seiner Kompostionen: 2004 Sonderpreis "pädagogische Komposition" für das Quartett Die Sitzgruppe beim Kompositionswettbewerb der Stadt Wolkersdorf-Österreich. 2006 gewinnt er mit Kick-Box 261 for Marimba Solo den dritten Preis beim "Intenational Composition Contest" der PAS-Italien. 2008 erster Preis beim "International Composition Contest" der Classical Marimba League-USA mit Minotaurus 4.3 for Marimba Solo. 2011 dritter Preis beim "International Composition Contest" der Pas-Italien mit dem Stück SchattenSägenFuge for Piccolo- and Fielddrum.
Im Herbst 1999 spielt er beim PAS Euro-Meeting in Tübingen. Seine Komposition Desert Express for ten percussionists wird bei Pasic 2000 in Dallas/Texas vom Percussion Ensemble der Texas A&M University/Commerce unter der Leitung von Brian West uraufgeführt. Die Europäische Uraufführung findet in Tübingen im November 2001 statt. Mit dem Index4-Quartett spielte er bei zwei "World Drum Festivals" 1999/2000 in Hamburg. In 2001 gab er einen Percussion Clinic/Performance at PAS Eurp Meeting in Sofa/Bulgarien. 2016 wird er nach China zum 7th Jianli International Percussion Festival eingeladen, wo er sieben seiner Kompositionen spielt.

Born in 1961 in Stuttgart-Germany, Leander Kaiser studied with different well-named professors of percussion. From 1986 to 1988, he taught percussion at the University of Cologne, since 1988 he teaches at the Musikschule Starnberg. In 1990, he began composing for percussion. Since then, more than 40 of his compositions have been published.
In 1997, he won the first prize of the 24th Composition Contest of the Percussive Arts Society-USA with his work Black Sphinx for Marimba Solo. In July 1999 he won the first prize of the "3° International Challenge for Creative Percussionists" at Percfest in Laigueglia, Italy. For this contest, he exclusively played his own works. He played at two PAS Euro Meetings, 1999 in Tu¨bingen, Germany and 2001 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He and his ensemble INDEX4 played at two World Drum Festivals, 1999/2000 in Hamburg, Germany.
In 2004, he won the Special Prize for a pedagogical composition at the first Wolkersdorf Composition Contest with his composition Die Sitzgruppe, for Percussion Quartet. His work Kick Box 261 won the third prize of the 2006 International Composition Contest of PAS-Italy. In 2008, he won first prize of the Composition Contest of the Classical Marimba League with Minotaurus 4.3 for marimba solo. He won third prize of the 2011 PAS-Italy Composition Contest with his work SchattenSägenFuge for piccolo and field drum.
