Lon McClearn composer
Lon McClearn is a graduate of Dana School of Music (Youngstown, OH). Lon earned his BME, Masters work in saxophone performance, and Masters degree in counseling from Westminster College (New Wilmington, PA). He is a retired band director from Springfield Local Schools (New Middletown, OH). Here he taught 36 years. His experiences include grades 5-12 instrumental music, vocal music, and work with various ensembles
including jazz band.
While in college, Lon was a featured soloist at Stambaugh Auditorium with the
university wind ensemble. He has performed professionally and traveled with many groups,
recorded, done radio and television work, and continues to play professionally. He enjoys
writing and arranging for various bands, vocal groups, and individuals, as well as recording
in his studio. He also teaches private lessons at Music Arts (Canfield, OH) and is an active
member of the EPC worship team (Enon Valley, PA) as a pianist and vocalist.
