Richard Worthing composer
Richard was born in Castalia, Ohio, and received degrees from Kent State University and Michigan State University. He came to Kent State in 1971, teaching music theory, analysis and orchestration, and serving as the Coordinator of Kent/Blossom Music Festival.
In 1979, he became the assistant dean of the College of Fine and Professional Arts, retiring as dean emeritus of that college. Richard received The Presidents Medal in 2004, and served on the board of numerous organizations. An accomplished pianist, his music is published by Ludwig Music.
